My Cat Wants A Day Off ~ a short poem by Katrina Curtiss 4/23/2020

My cat came up to me today and said
“I want to stay snug, sleep in my bed
No adventures for me, I feel really lazy
Having you home, is driving me crazy”

“I miss all our students; I miss them so much
I miss all their music; I’m missing their touch
They used to pet me, and pat my head
Since they’re not here, I’m going back to bed”

“Basura, come here, stop taking a nap
Let’s write to them, come sit on my lap
They want to hear from you every day
It makes them happy to hear what say”

“No” she replied, “No Adventures with me
I’m going to lie in my bed
And listen to the birds in the tree
Oh, how I wish I could go out and be free”

So off did she snooze, into her dreams
Of chasing squirrels and eating ice cream
Under the rays of the sun did she sleep
The Adventures of Basura, will just have to keep

Todays Musing: “ In your dreams, meet me on the 3rd star to the right of the moon and we’ll play volleyball” ~ Quote of Basura, owner of me. #girlwithguitar
