“The Cat Who Wanted To Play The Guitar” ~ a short poem ~ Katrina Curtiss 4/2/2020

There was a cat that wanted to play the guitar
She traveled the land from near to far
She never bathed, she had lots of fleas
Until one day she ended up living with me

“I want to play the guitar like you”, she meowed
“Oh please, oh please won’t you teach me how?
I’ve trimmed all my nails so that I can strum
Teach me a song, at least teach me one!”

“Since you’ve got so much time on your hands
Teach me some songs of my favorite bands
Teach me Cat Steven’s ~ Katmandu
Teach me Cat Scratch Fever and songs by The Who”

So in my Music room we sat
Day after day, just me and my cat
I taught her theory, rhythm and rhyme
And then handed her a guitar of mine

And that’s when the real problem arose
From the tip of her tail to the tip of her nose
We both sat there feeling kind of dumb
Cats can’t play, because they have no thumbs

Today’s Musing: ”Meow, meow, meow!!” ~ translation ~ “Stop writing and feed me!!!” Quote of Basura Cat, owner of me #girlwithguitar #stayathome #Timeoutmusiclessons #Coronavirus #staysafe #cusoon

So cute! Your wizardry with words is amazing!

I love the type music your cat wanted to learn: “songs by Cat Stevens, Katmandu, Cat Scratch Fever and songs by “The Who”. You’re very clever.?
