My cat thinks that she’s so funny
Out of boredom she started making fun of me
“I see that you’re not making music, playing out
As all of your equipment is just laying about
“Basura”, I said, “It’s the virus, no more gigs for a while
For musicians like me, this is a play at home trial
I post videos of my songs on Facebook
You’ll find them there if you just take a look”
She asked, “Why don’t you go and play in the street?
Think of all of the people you’d meet
Singing through a mask, you might sound nice
I think you should take my free advice”
You could play in a tree, hanging upside down
I bet that would make a most interesting sound
Or ride a skateboard while you sing and strum
That would entertain almost anyone
My cat continued to giggle, continued to laugh
As she continued making fun of my craft
I still love my cat, even though she got mean
I blame her behavior on COVID-19
