When you wish upon a star
Think about where you really are
Is there ground beneath your feet?
Do you have enough to eat?
Wishes come from everywhere
Some carelessly tossed here and there
Wanting things before your eyes
Wanting riches to the skies
But somewhere a wish is sent
From those without, with heads bent
For peace, safety and roof overhead
For food, water and a bed.
I took my wish from the star
And sent it off to afar
To someone somewhere, goodness knows
Where do wishers, wishes go?
