“I’m Okay, You Okay?” A Short Poem by Katrina Curtiss 3/27/2020

We talked on the phone early today
To check to see if each others okay.
We talked about the way things use to be
Before the virus came, when we use to run free.

You tell me your life, I share with you mine
We both tell each other that we’re doing fine.
That’s what we say, who needs to say more?
It’s not like you can walk through my door.

You say you’re not scared, but I think that you are
I tell you to breathe, pick up your guitar.
The phone doesn’t weight a thousand pounds
Pick it up, call a friend, hear familiar sounds.

We’ve never been thought this, neither me or you
So no one really knows what to do.
Until the dust settles. which it will in the end
Remember that I’m here for you, my friend.
