On one hand there's this, on the other, there's that. If I start clapping, can we meet in the middle?

My Covid Conversation With The Wind ~ a short poem by Katrina Curtiss 4/25/2020

It boggles my mind, during this trying time
To listen to some friends of mine
Some say the Government is taking away our rights
As rules are in place to win the Covid-19 fight

I ponder, if we acted to help and not harm
Would our Government have issued such an alarm?
But there’s always a percent that will act in descent
With guns in their hands, wanting their message sent

They shout, “Its Socialism at it’s best!”
“We’d rather die, than being put under house arrest
Open the bars open everything
Death is not here, let the bells ring!”

I’m not saying what’s wrong or what’s right
I’m just weary of hearing everyone fight
“It’s here; no it’s not!” such a mixed melting pot
“Give us more, give us more, more than we’ve got!”

It makes me want to scream, wake up from this dream
Waiting for brilliant minds to make a vaccine
If one more dies, then it’s one more too soon
On the other side, many want the economy to boom

I say this, in kindness, with the most respect for you
I support what it is that you think you must do
Stay at home, go to work, I pray we all do our best
As this virus divides us, that we past the test

    This is a test.
    It is only a test.
The human race has mostly failed.
    We’re screwed….

My post was supposed to say, ….the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Very true! It’s hard to know what is right, as most of us think our government leaders are not telling us the whole truth and noting but the trust! (And in my humble opinion, THEY are the ones who have made us not trust them!) I say, the truth may not always make me happy, but knowing the truth makes me feel better in the long run!
