A Masking I Will Go

A Masking I Will Go ~ A short poem by Katrina Curtiss 4/15/2020

As I go to the store, I put on my mask
It’s become part of my daily tasks
To stay 6 feet apart, no hugs come my way
It’s the way that the world is today

No more gigs do I play, at home I do stay
No work, no job, no Friday payday
I know that a lot have a lot to say
Who thought this would last until the end of May

There’s so much time, yet things don’t get done
I start lots of things, but never finish one
I remember that I used to wish for this time
With nothing to do, but roam my own mind

Now that it’s here, my mind scatters to the wind
I forget what I thought, until I think it again
So here’s to the days that groan into more
Next time, I’ll be more careful, what I wish for.

“There’s so much time, yet things don’t get done
I start lots of things, but never finish one” — Everyone who thinks this describes them, raise your right hand (uh oh, the earth just tilted on its axis!).
