Chatted with a friend ~ he inspired the following poem. We are 33 minutes away from the 2nd Presidential Debate, the last one before the election which is 12 days away. As always am hoping for leadership, clarity and calm between the two men, one which will lead our country for the next 4 years. I’m exhausted by the “us” verse “them” attitude which hangs over my country. I long for a leader who recogonizes humanity, has empathy and compassion. Prayers for us, our country and the world.

He didn’t agree or disagree.
He just sat there and listened to me.
I said what I thought, and it wasn’t a lot.
I’ve gotten tired of my voice, of saying my choice.
It’s fatigue; it’s concern of the things I have learned.
More sides to the story than two.
It’s made me confused, and not much amused.
And question the things I once knew.
What I believe is how we enter and leave.
Shows others our hearts and our minds.
And what’s in-between shows what we mean.
As we continue to live our own lives.
I’m not here to tell you the things you should do.
Not here to shout that I know more than you.
To learn and to grow and share what we know.
As we get ready to watch the main show.
