There’s a tugging at my mind, it’s not very fun,
Is it something that needs doing or something undone?
Is it something old or something new?
Oh, how I wish it was something I knew.
I’ve paid all my bills, cleaned up my room,
Took my medications, all before noon,
But something calls, “you forgot about me.”
This nagging thought, just won’t let me be.
So I wander and ponder a lot to myself,
Taking down everything from my mind’s shelf.
Is it something, or someone, how can I know?
But the constant is tugging, it won’t let me go.
What is it? I think and find not a thing,
Is it a letter to write, a song yet to sing?
A meeting to have, or a friend yet to call.
The tugging is like a bouncing Super ball.
It’s hard when your thoughts are just out of reach.
To remember to practice the things that you preach.
My mind used to be a shovel, now it feels like a rake.
Missing things, like the ice cream from a milkshake.
