Safe In My Bed (Prayers For Ukraine) ~ by Katrina Curtiss 3.2.2022

I wonder upon this night about those in Ukraine
Fleeing their country, stricken with pain
How much can the human spirit endure?
War is contagious, we must find a cure.

Battles at home, small lines are drawn
Pissing and moaning about what we think is wrong
When off in the distance, bombs bursting in air
A bully has risen, we act unaware.

How can this be happening? How can it be?
When from up above, His kingdom is free
Oh the bondage that man places, the bounty he seeks
Terrible action, results of his speech.

Sadder than sad at our pitiful selves
Unable to put egos away on the shelf
I wish I were richer, braver and wise
As I pray for the safety of Ukrainian lives.
