I just got off the phone with my good friend, 86 year old Ken, we talked of the world.
He ended the conversation with these words, “I suggest you get a good bottle of Scotch,
an expensive cigar and sit back and relax.”
Random Thoughts ~ by Katrina Curtiss 7/29/2020
While one complains about working with feelings of frustration
Another looks for a job with feelings of failure.
While one thinks they know everything
Another realizes they know nothing.
While one eats through their stress
Another has no hunger at all.
While one has family that they must turn away
Another sits all alone, without anything to say.
While one sleeps all through the night, snuggled in their room
Another sits alone with their thoughts, silent under the moon.
No matter where you sit, the view is not the same
In a matter of months, all of the rules have suddenly been changed.
If you would have told me this is where we would be
I would have laughed and turned away
But here we all are, trying our best each and every day.
It’s a struggle to keep your head in the clouds
Shutting out the noise, which is so very loud.
How to take what we have and learn to do with less
Studying and preparing to pass this test.
This is not the country that my mother handed to me
Forgotten words of “Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.”
So here’s to carrying on into yet another day
Remembering each step we take along the way.
One day, we’ll tell the story of how we made it through
Together as a Nation, stumbling through the false to the true.
Stay Healthy,
You’re Essential!
