As The United States expects to have enough COVID vaccine doses for all adult Americans by the end of May ~ our governor just announced that he is opening everything up 100% and lifting the statewide mask mandate as of March 10th 2021.
I’m saddened but now surprised, his lack of common sense and leadership has set Texas adrift, desperate and damaged.
My Conversation With My Mask ~ Katrina Curtiss 3/2/2021
My Mask: “So, you don’t have to wear me anymore.”
Me: “Oh, because our Governor said I don’t have to?”
My Mask: “That’s right, starting next Wednesday, March 10th.”
Me: “Well, only 7% of Texan’s have gotten the Covid19 Vaccine, so I’m pretty sure it’s still out there. Plus, he’s more interested in business than he is in saving lives, plus, he is not a medical professional. Plus, I wouldn’t trust him to walk my dog.” (I don’t have a dog, but you get the idea.)
My Mask: “But the number of cases has dropped.”
Me: “Well, two weeks ago, we were all shut down, stranded in our homes due to the Winter Storm, so no one was getting tested, no one was going anywhere, so it’s not a true reflection of what’s happening.”
My Mask: “Well, how about the way people look at me, like I’m a sign of weakness?”
Me: Weakness!? My gosh I look at you as a sign of intelligence, caring and life saving!”
My Mask: “Oh, well, gosh, I thought as soon as you could get rid of me that you would.”
Me: “Pfffttt, you’re like family now, we’ve been together for almost a year.”
My Mask: “True, my favorite thing to do is fog up your glasses.”
**Now is not the time to let down our guard, as we struggle to get our loved ones vaccinated, as we grieve with those who lost loved ones, now is not the time to let down our guard***
Stay safe; wear a mask, save a life.
Much love always, #girlwithguitar
