My Cat Wears A Flask Instead Of A Mask ~ a short poem by Katrina Curtiss 6/26/2020

Basura cat was running around wearing a flask
It was the strangest thing, so I just had to ask
It clinked and it clanked as she ran blindly by
She said, “I’ll keep you healthy, at least I can try!”

Now my cat is usually very bright
But I had to tell her that she just wasn’t right
It’s not a flask that will protect me and you
It’s a mask, 6 feet apart, cover your mouth when you ah-coo

I said, “It’s a mask, not a flask, you silly old cat”
And she replied, “That depends where you are at
It’s metal and won’t let the virus get through
It protects me, while it protects you!”

“It’s even better than a mask, I do think
Because when you take it off, you can have a strong drink
If someone shot a bullet, it would bounce right off
And it stops any droplets, when I have to cough”

So maybe my cat’s idea isn’t so bad
And maybe she’s started the world’s next fad
Maybe people wouldn’t complain so fast
If instead of a mask, we all wear a full flask.

I like Basura perception! Makes sense, take a swift drink when someone questions why do we have to wear a mask.
