Broken Blood Lines © ~ by Katrina Curtiss ~ 10.24.2022

There is a small circle in which I live
Back and forth we choose to give
Never a question about your need
Our tribe, sharing the same seed.
So when you took what wasn’t yours
I prayed to forgive, tried many cures
But you have broken what was strong
And act as if nothing is wrong.
Now, I cannot look you in the eye
I feel an ache, as my heart cries
Should I tell you how I feel?
To let you know my pain is real?
Why did you do this, I need to know
Behind my mask, my anger grows
Fooled me once, but not again
I bid adieu, my long lost friend.
