It’s Hard To Be An Empath ~ by Katrina Curtiss 7/17/2020

Some people feel more deeply than others, are more intuitive, perceptive, and more “filter less” than most.
Social media has become a battleground of “experts” spouting misinformation, judgments and blatant hatred for so many things on so many levels.
I humbly put before you, is we are all in this together, it’s not a political issue, not a race issue, it’s a Human Race Issue.
Before posting, I ask myself,
“Is it true?”
“Is it necessary?”
“Is it kind?”
“Does it improve upon the silence?”

It’s Hard To Be An Empath ~ by Katrina Curtiss 7/17/2020

It’s hard to be Empath, submerged in an emotional bath
Toss one way when friends cry, tossed another when they laugh.

It’s hard to be an Empath, feeling like a sponge
Soaking up the feelings of each and everyone.

It’s hard to be an Empath, staying by oneself
Gathering people’s emotions, to put upon a shelf.

It’s hard to be an Empath, needing time alone
Always a servant, never on the throne.

It’s hard to be an Empath, feeling sensitive
Never one to take, always one to give.

It’s hard to be an Empath, giving more than they have
Take care of the Empath, don’t drown them in your bath.

Let’s take care of each other and meet on the other side.
Much Love,

You’re so right. It is hard being an empathetic person. It still is good to be there for people.

Yes, I think of it as a bucket, I can only give out so many cups of water before I find myself, no longer with a bucket to give, but instead, I’m the one with the cup. Balance, it’s a tricky tightrope
