My Cat Misses Live Music ~ A short poem by Katrina Curtiss 9/4/2020

The Adventures Of Basura Continue…

Basura woke me up at 3:30 this morning, not wanting food as usual,
but demanding that I play guitar for her.
She meows until I comply; it’s an audience of one.

My Cat Misses Live Music ~ A short poem by Me

Live music is missing, said Basura The Cat
It’s what makes people happy, now that’s a fact
Without live music filling the air
People are sad, almost everywhere.

When will the venues pulse with a beat?
With live music, and people tapping their feet
Open Mics, Bands and Concerts and things
Oh, the healing that live music brings.

The artist, the poets, the creators of magic
Without them, life seems so very tragic
Let’s go sit on the porch; you can play me a tune
And make music, under the light of the moon.

Let’s invite everyone to sing along
I think it will fix everything that is wrong
Oh, I do hope that venues start having music again
A safe space to be happy and hang out with friends.
