The Corona Virus is now in The White House.
Late last night, the news broke that President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, have both tested positive for COVID-19.
The world reacts with mixed emotions.
It’s serious when someone contracts the virus, for there is nothing more precious and fleeting than one’s health.
I feel like irony is my companion as this news blows across the land and fears rise with the sun. A chilling breeze of the reality of how dangerous, how contagious, how alive COVID-19 remains in the world.
Trump has constantly dismissed the wearing of masks, even during the debate he mocked his opponent Joe Biden, “Every time you see him, he’s got a mask. He could be speaking 200 feet away from it. And he shows up with the biggest mask I’ve ever seen,”
He has held huge rallies where thousands have gathered, many without masks, no social distancing, in his own words, “It affects virtually nobody.”
Facts are that due to COVID-19, over 200,000 Americans are gone, leaving empty seats at the tables in many homes.
Today will reveal much about us as Americans as we react to the news.
A line will be drawn with the words we choose, the actions we take.
There is a fine line between humor and horror, between dignity and disgrace.
I stand with the slogan, “Make America Nice Again.”
Which means biting of the tongue, no off the cuff jokes, no making fun of anyone.
Instead I’ll use this as a time of reflection and spiritual inspection. I admit that my first reaction is not one that I am proud of.
Daily, I’ve been asking the Universe to help our President to be more aware/truthful of the virus, to set a better example for us, to be empathetic to those affected. To put it simply, to protect us, to protect the world, to do the right thing. Perhaps, this is my answer.
Stay Safe and Healthy,
Much Love Always,#girlwithguitar
My guess is he’s lying about it to get sympathy, after generating so much distaste with that “debate.” (What, Trump lie?!)
