The Locked Door ~ by Katrina Curtiss 12.13.21

A door is locked, no key to be found
Hiding a vacuum, no light and no sound
Standing outside, a family awaits
Nothing they want, nothing to take.

Inclusion, intrusion, chaotic illusion
Hearts break in chaotic confusion
Answers to questions never asked
Who is the gatekeeper behind the mask?

A minute too late, a lifetime too long
Unwritten melody to a sad swan song
A placement of dirt, to dampen the sound
A long elevator ride, going up, going down.
