It saddens me deeply that it comes to a point where laws have to be passed, fines levied in order to get people to do the right thing. We were given a chance to shine as caring for each other ~ upon the world’s stage, we failed.
Today the city of San Antonio made the following statement:
“BREAKING: Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff issues new public health emergency order requiring that buisnesses implement plans mandating the use of facemasks by employees and patrons. It takes effect in five days and business that don’t comply could face a fine of up to $1000.”

If Someone Told Me ~ by Katrina Curtiss 6/17/2020
If someone told me that by eating shrimp, I could help save someone’s life, even though I hate shrimp, I’d eat it
If someone told me that by driving slower in the rain, I could help prevent an accident, I’d drive slower, even though I like driving fast
If someone told me that by planting a tree that I could help save the world, I’d plant a tree, even though I don’t like getting my hands dirty.
If someone told me that giving a Popsicle to my UPS guy, it would make their day better, I’d give them a Popsicle, even though I covet my Popsicles.
If someone told me that by giving my last 5 dollar to a homeless person would buy them food for a day; I’d give it to them, even if that means I have to skip lunch.
If someone told me that they wanted to learn something that I know, but couldn’t pay and I really didn’t have the time, I’d teach them, sometimes it’s good to share.
If someone told me told me that the skies were green, even though I believe that they’re blue, I’ll respect their perspective, sometimes fiction is more fun that facts.
If someone told me that their way was the only way, I’d take the first exit ramp, not try and force them onto my highway, there’s enough room for everyone.
If someone says that I should leave my country if I don’t agree with our policies and political procedures, I’d say, “I just might ~ Portugal seems cool.”
If someone told me that wearing a mask in public might help someone, a random Soul during this time, I put on my mask, no questions asked. Even though wearing a mask is uncomfortable, it’s an easy ask.
If someone told me that by washing my hands, that I could stay healthy, I’ll wash them all day long, even though I have dry skin and so much washing makes it worse.
I am not of a “herd” mentality, I’ve always colored outside the lines, but even I know when to listen, learn and modify my behavior.
