He called me this morning, asking if I wanted to take back my vote yet, we laughed; I called him a son of a gun. We chatted like we do, most everyday. Topics range from music to politics. We never tell the other what to think or do, how to be, we just simply are. He’s another gift that music delivered to my hearts doorstep. Due to COVID 19, he no longer takes his Friday morning Ukulele lessons, I miss him.
Two Sides That Meet In The Middle ~ by Katrina Curtiss 10/24/2020
We’ve known each other for such a short time.
In my small circle you’re a good friend of mine.
I miss our hugs and our face to face.
I miss you taking lessons when you came to my place.
You’re older and much wiser than me.
I love when you tell me how things use to be.
Your stories of life, your time during the war.
I could listen to you for hours, maybe even more.
You’re a stanch Republican; I’m a true Democrat.
But we still best friends, in spite of that fact.
We playfully argue, about how we should vote.
Then we chuckle, knowing we’re in the same boat.
It’s a comfort to know that you’re always there.
Makes my heart smile to know that you care.
It’s nice to be able to agree to disagree.
And when this is over, you’ll still be a friend to me.

Great friends agree to disagree also.
