Basura Balances A Coffee Cup On Her Head

My Cat Wants To Join The Circus ~ a short poem by Katrina Curtiss 5/19/2020

My cat brought my coffee to me in bed
She balanced it on top of her head
What made it even more neat
Was she wore tap shoes upon her feet

Yes, Basura has been trying lots of new things
Like juggling balls and juggling rings
She wants to be in the circus you know
The main attraction of the greatest show!

She’d walk on a high wire up in the air
And get in a cage with a big angry bear
Ride around in a small car with 10 funny clowns
She’d ride a pony in a circle round and around

She’d amaze the crowd high on her trapeze
Calling her circus, “Basura and her fleas”
They would travel the countryside in a train
Performing in the wind, snow and the rain

And before I even thought to ask her
She offered me the job as Top Ring Master
Basura and her fleas and then there is me
Now that’s a show I’d certainly want to see

Today’s Musing: “When life’s a 3 ring circus, put on a show” ~Quote by Basura, owner of me #girlwithguitar
