My Cat And My Keyboard ~ a short poem by Katrina Curtiss 8/13/2020

The Adventures Of Basura Continue…

Basura cat ignores me all day
She acts like a possum when I want to play
But, oh let me try getting work done
That’s when Basura, wants to play and have lots of fun.

She nips at my toes and curls up on my feet
She’s like a blanket, she radiates heat
Then she jumps on my lap, it’s her own little trap
So she can control me while taking a nap.

Then onto my desk, she slowly climbs
I know what she’s up to, this cat of mine
She lays her head on my keyboard and sleeps
From doing my work, as her tail leaps and sweeps

With a sigh, I try to do my best
To continue on, as she gently rests
I move around her as best that I can
Trying to catch the breeze of the fan.

And when I give up, she wanders away
She does this all night, she does this all day
I wonder if she would start to leave me alone
If I got her a computer and desk of her own.
