My Cat And The Rain ~ a short poem by Katrina Curtiss 8/3/2020

Today for the first time in a long while, it rained…

My Cat And The Rain ~ by me

Basura cat ran to me and started to cry
“Something is falling out of the sky!”
It took me a minute to try and explain
That what she was seeing was something called rain.

She didn’t believe me, she’s a questioning pet
But then we saw everything start to get wet.
Then puddles appeared out in the road
Cars hopped between them, like happy young toads

Then the Thunder clapped and we jumped in the air
Off we both ran to get our teddy bear
The lights they did flicker off and then on
Basura asked if there was anything wrong

No, it’s just rain, it’s just what we need
It waters the flowers, grass and the seeds
It’s Mother Nature’s way of helping things grow
And hopefully help keep our Water bill low.

Today’s Musing: “Thunder is just the sound of Angels bowling strikes in Heaven” ~ Quote by Jeanne Curtiss, mother of me #girlwithguitar
