It’s still too soon to know who will win the 2020 Presidential Election, but no matter which way it goes, the vibrations of division will continue to reverberate in our country for a long time to come.
Some of us are deeply hurt by someone’s choice.
Some of us are profoundly confused by someone’s choice.
A thought comes to mind, as Basura Cat purrs upon my lap and most of my country wrestles with sleep as we nervously await the election results.
“We might seem like we’re in different boats, but we’re all on the same ship.”
Each side looks at the other, unable to accept and understand why votes were cast in either direction.
Protests are going on, with one side wanting every vote counted, while the other side wants the voting stopped.
While the wheels of democracy are turning, one side wants to wants to protect them, while the other wants to flatten the tires.
While one side claims victory before the final vote, the other says, “stay calm, keep the faith, it’s not over yet.”
The conspiracy theories are running amok, buckle your seatbelts kids, it’s going to be a bumpy ride. Make sure you’re reading real news, double check your sources, and try not to react. Be aware of your physical, emotional and spiritual surrounding. This is America; let’s do this thing with grace and dignity.
I may not be able to understand why you voted the way you did, but I respect that you voted, that we both participated in doing our part to create our version of what we want our country to be.
I personally feel that 45 has damaged our country, divided our nation and will continue to do so with total disregard for any of us. In my humble opinion, he is dangerous and a disgrace.
