Basura Cat keeps turning up the heat,
She sneaks to the thermostat when I sit down to eat.
She says we need to keep the house nice and hot,
I tell her no, millionaires we are not.
I’m freezing!” She cried, “Look Sofia is even wearing a hat!”
“I’m colder than you, I am thin you are fat.”
“Turn on the oven and open the door,
Heat the house, don’t act like we are poor!”
“Cover our pipes, cover our plants,”
Basura was on a cold weather rant.
“I’d take a hot bath, but I don’t like to get wet,
Now is the time to take care of your pets!”
I smiled as she continued to complain,
Safe inside from the cold and the rain.
Sofia said, “Come here and I’ll share my hat.”
