My cat came to me, swishing her tail
Wanting to talk about voting by mail
Claiming to have an idea that cannot fail
She told me her plans in great detail
We vote by mail to vote on voting by mail
It seems confusing, on such a national scale
Vote on voting by mail, across the land
It’s a solution to voting for every woman and man
Instead of standing in line at the polling place
6 feet apart with a mask on your face
If it works for the military, it should work for us
Why all the worry, why all the fuss?
I really think that it’s a solution
Since the military has been voting absentee
Since the American Revolution
Protecting the 15thAmendment in our Constitution
So first we vote by mail, weigh results on a scale
To elect whom we want, by using snail mail
We must make sure everyone has a voice
We should vote on the vote and make our choice
Her solution, gave me a big headache
Of all the twists and turns it takes
A vote to decide to vote, an idea by a cat
