I tossed my song, “Blue” into an Internet Songwriting Contest. I was surprised when they accepted my song. I was excited to hear it on the airwaves, but due to time zone differences, I miss it ~ Curses! Now it sits in the ranking, and only moves when someone votes for it. My Cat Wants To Win ~ by Katrina Curtiss 11/30/2020
My cat came to me this morning again.
Asking if the song contest we will win.
I laughed and said, “Probably not,
It’s based on how many friends we have got.”
So it doesn’t matter if we knock upon wood,
Or really if our song is bad or it’s good.
We must now ask all of our friends to vote,
To see how many will cheer on our boat.
“Let’s hold a rally, go state to state,
Hurry before this week ends and it’s too late.”
Seems Basura Cat wants to reach out to everyone,
Sad she can’t vote without any thumbs.
“Come on,” she cried, “Let’s put up a sign!”
“Let’s rent a bus, advertise,” she’s gone out of her mind.
I laughed as she ran off to catch a fly,
The same one that sank VP Pence, oh my!
