Welcome to the New Year, Day Number Two,
Basura Cat says there’s so much to do.
We can clean out the gutters, clean out the drawers,
We can rearrange closets and do so very much more.
If we stay busy and take get rid of old things,
We’ll have space for what the New Year brings.
We can get fake plants to put into the yard,
We can change the strings on all your guitars.
It’s the time to do things left undone,
It’s a new beginning the year 2021.
There is hope, there is light, there is magic in the air,
I feel like a new kitten, the first day at a fair.
Let’s forgive and forget, let lying dogs lie,
We watered the earth with each tear that we cried.
My cat is happy, hopeful, her heart full of wondrous things,
As together we wait for what this New Year will bring.
