Another Birthday ~ by Katrina Curtiss 3.15.2022 — DOB 3.16.1959
Birthday celebrations have always escaped me. It makes me uncomfortable to have people treat me differently as they rally to support my birth. I really had nothing to do with it.

I wonder upon this night about those in Ukraine Fleeing their country, stricken with pain How much can the human spirit endure? War is contagious, we must find a cure.
History erased, repeated again We’ve been here before, look backwards my friends In the year 2022, our souls are poor Once again, countries at war.
These old hands from child to grace Touched the troubled, held in place These old hands hold those I love Angered hearts, fleeting dove.
As separate as we may feel, we are together. As strong as we may present, we are still fragile. As loud as our heart beats, it’s the music of our soul. As the day draws to darkness, we bow our heads Giving thanks for those we have love and lost.
Two wayward souls, a wandering along life’s crooked path The angels hugged us when we cried, danced when we both laughed.
A tip of the glass to quell the pain Beaten in life, like the falling rain
Inclusion, intrusion, chaotic illusion Hearts break in chaotic confusion
It is a tedious trek, head kept low Keeping to me the things I know Privileged by the color of my skin Privileged by the silence of my sins.
"Clay Pigeons" by Blaze Foley is a great song. Here are the picking patterns for the song. Have fun
